Volume III Number 5 August 1958 Western Printing & Lithography, Poughkeepsie, New York 1958 44 Pages, Color & B/W Photos Darlene brightens this cover in casual clothing that suits her well. Inside, she has a two-page photo layout. The pictures used are unflattering, and make you wonder why the Disney studio didn't take better care of her image. Walt's editorial doesn't even mention Darlene's name, but instead dwells largely on Moochie's article. Also in this issue is the third part of "The Secret of San Rio", and an obviously staged photo layout of the Mouseketeers relaxing "offstage". Bicycles were beloved props of the studio photographers, and every Disney actress from Janet Munro to Hayley Mills wound up riding them. |
