The Original Mickey Mouse Club Show

Walt Disney Home Video: The Mickey Mouse Club

In 1994 the Disney Company issued this set of ten VHS video tapes from the original Mickey Mouse Club. Each one had three twenty-minute shows, and the first five had a new eight-minute introductary segment by Annette. The shows were drawn from the third and fourth seasons on ABC, and from the first season in syndication. When the compilation DVD The Best of the Mickey Mouse Club was issued in 2005 it consisted entirely of episodes that had already been featured on these tapes.

Volume Six     Featuring "Fun With Music Day"!

Front of Video Tape Box Rear of Video Tape Box This tape has three third season "Fun With Music" shows, each with a Mouseketeer production number. The first two shows also have Newsreel specials, while the third show has an episode of The New Adventures of Spin and Marty. Incidently, the back cover of this tape's package has two photos of shows not on this tape. Confusion probably arose from the episode on this tape called "Disneyland Calypso". One picture on the box is from a second season number called "Get Acquainted Calypso", the other is from a second season "Fun With Music" opening.

Dry Gulch Cowboy 1st Episode: Fun with Music Day
Dry Gulch Cowboy is a Sharon Baird showstopper, highlighting her singing, acting, and famous tap dancing while jump-roping routine. In the second part of this skit, she does a tap dance with drumsticks, like Fred Astaire in Daddy Long Legs. Linda, Karen, Bobby and Cubby have brief roles. The show concludes with a newsreel special on newspaper photography.
Disneyland Calypso 2nd Episode: Fun with Music Day
"Disneyland Calypso" is a skit promoting Disneyland. Don Agrati poses as a talent winner from Trinidad, who teaches Darlene, Annette, Bobby, Jimmie, Sharon, and Lonnie how to sing Calypso style. As a reward, they take him on a tour of the Magic Kingdom's lands (all on Stage 1 in Burbank, of course). A newsreel special, Youth and the Atom, hosted by David Stollery, follows.
The Boagy Shop 3rd Episode: Fun with Music Day
"The Boagy Shop" is a two part skit featuring Wally Boag. The first part is Wally's standard balloon tricks and comic patter with Annette, Doreen, Cheryl, Bonnie, Lonnie, and Don Agrati. In the second part, the thirty-eight year old Wally does a surprisingly acrobatic song and dance number, Blow a Boagalloon, which the four girls join in at the finale. Following is an episode of The New Adventures of Spin & Marty.
